Job summary

W. G. Yates & Sons Construction Company seeks an Assistant Project Manager to aid in planning, coordination, and execution of data center projects.

You will gather and distribute technical and logistical information to ensure seamless delivery of mission-critical infrastructure. The role involves coordination with trade partners, design teams, and clients, supporting field operations, estimating tasks, and document turnover.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction and engineering principles, especially in mission-critical environments.
• Understanding of business principles sufficient to project and monitor expenses.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents with emphasis on MEP systems, redundancy, and commissioning protocols.
• Participate in coordination meetings with trade partners, design teams, and client stakeholders; take minutes as required.
• Provide field support to ensure compliance with data center standards.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage systems.
• Support constructability reviews focusing on high-density cooling, power distribution, and fire suppression.
• Attend preconstruction meetings with subcontractors across phases including white space builds and equipment installs.
• Assist with close-out documentation including commissioning reports and turnover packages.
• Coordinate punch list items and ensure readiness of critical path systems.
• Assist in estimating and bidding; track costs for MEP trades and long-lead equipment.
• Support site logistics planning for laydown areas of generators, chillers, and switchgear.
