Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Data Center Project Architect to lead designs for Amazon DCs in the Americas and influence projects globally.

The role requires deep experience in designing complex DC facilities and coordinating large teams of engineers and consultants. You will be part of a high-performing design team focused on resilient, cost-effective data centers with emphasis on security, safety, efficiency, and uptime.

Qualifications

• 4+ years project management or lead work including RFQ/RFP process.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
• 3+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
• NCARB recognized architecture license.
• 7+ years of design experience on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Maintenance of Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural elements.
• Review and inform design RFPs.
• Manage our external design consultants through the design and construction process.
• Coordinate with internal and external Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Cabling design engineers.
• Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously.
• Think outside of the box to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or reliability.
• Travel for site assessments and design meetings; anticipated travel up to 25%.
