Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Data Center Project Architect to join its design team in Seattle, WA. You will lead designs for Amazon data centers across the Americas and guide a multidisciplinary team of architects and engineers to achieve uptime, security, and cost efficiency.

You will influence prototypical DC facilities, provide technical guidance, and solve large-scale implementation challenges while aligning with AWS standards and ICD/ICS 705 requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and effective communication.
• 3+ years of large-scale Data Center facility design experience.
• Proficiency in building codes, IFC/IBC/NFPA and UFC standards.
• Experience designing to ICD/ICS 705 accreditation requirements.
• Vendor and consultant management experience.
• Ability to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Communicate conceptual designs and maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Maintain Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural elements.
• Review and inform design RFPs.
• Manage external design consultants through design and construction.
• Coordinate with internal and external Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Cabling design engineers.
• Communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
• Travel for site assessments and meetings; anticipated travel up to 25%.
