Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Architect to join a global engineering team responsible for the implementation and evaluation of designs and the ongoing innovation of a rapidly expanding data center footprint.

You will lead architectural work across multiple regions, developing standard designs, reviewing submittals, and mentoring the Data Center Engineering community while delivering resilient, cost-effective infrastructure for AWS.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Architectural systems for data centers, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, Telecommunications and other disciplines.
• BIM (Revit) experience
• Support continuous improvement through data analysis and system optimization
• Decompose complex problems into straightforward and actionable solutions.
• Work with internal teams to understand user requirements and challenges.
• Collaborate with teams or individuals from other disciplines, cultures, and countries.
• Escalate issues as required and communicate clearly and effectively at the appropriate level of detail with people from a wide range of technical abilities and backgrounds.
• Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, white papers, schematics and diagrams, and reports.
