Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a data center Architect to lead architectural design and evaluation across global facilities, including Herndon, VA.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, civil and other teams to standardize designs and drive cost-effective, resilient infrastructure. You will contribute to BIM workflows, write clear design documentation, and mentor engineers while supporting large-scale events and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
• 4+ years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Architectural systems for data centers, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, Telecommunications and other disciplines.
• BIM (Revit) experience
• Support continuous improvement through data analysis and system optimization
• Conceives, initiates, and leads projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design, innovation, and implementation.
• Decompose complex problems into straightforward and actionable solutions.
• Work with internal teams to understand user requirements and challenges.
