Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Plant Engineer (Mechanical/Controls) in Lenoir, NC. You will operate and optimize electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems across critical facilities, reading blueprints and guiding junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Associates/technical training or equivalent practical experience required.
• 7 years of Electrical, Mechanical/HVAC, or Controls/Automation experience in industrial/commercial environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use OSHA PPE and safety equipment.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and varying shifts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems in data centers.
• Read blueprints/schematics and assist senior technicians.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve data center efficiency.
• Maintain environmental and safety standards and manage outages when needed.
