Google is seeking a Data Center Plant Engineer (Mechanical/Controls) in Lenoir, NC. You will operate and optimize electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems across critical facilities, reading blueprints and guiding junior technicians.

• Act as a data center technical lead, monitoring plant efficiency (e.g., Power Usage Effectiveness/Water Usage Effectiveness - PUE/WUE), and working with technicians, leads, and managers.


• Provide an approach to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), operations, and maintenance programs.


• Act as a resource and mentor for Facilities Technicians (FTs) to drive improvements and feedback.


• Navigate organizational change processes and provide site‑level feedback, ensuring appropriate SMEs are included, coordinating with FTs and managers to execute approved decisions, and properly closing out technical bugs.


• Provide input and direction in the data center commissioning processes and procedures, including retesting requirements following replacement or major repairs.
