Job summary

Fusion Solutions, LLC is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to support racking, cabling, and stacking in our data centers. The role includes break-fix, remote hands, hardware replacement, and optical troubleshooting to ensure continuous operation and customer satisfaction.

You'll work in various US locations, including San Jose, Reston, Atlanta, Chicago, and North Dallas, with potential shift work and strict safety and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years as a data center technician or equivalent with customer contact.
• Ability to work outside normal hours and shift work when required.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform break-fix and shift work when required.
• Provide remote hands, hardware replacement, and rack/stack duties.
• Perform optical testing and troubleshooting using OTDR, power meters, and related tools.
• Conduct site audits and ensure proper cable management.
• Racking and stacking hardware in data center racks following SOPs.
• Decommission outdated hardware and manage power, ATS, hot/cold aisles.
• Document findings and coordinate with suppliers and customers.
• Provide oversight of third-party on-site activities.
