Job summary

Fusion Solutions, LLC is seeking a Data Center Optical Engineer to join our team in supporting multiple U.S. locations.

The role focuses on racking, cabling, stacking, decommissioning, remote hands, hardware replacement, and optical troubleshooting to keep data center facilities running smoothly. You will perform site audits, ensure proper cable management, power distribution, and install hardware in racks, following MOPs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of data center operations experience preferred.
• Experience interacting directly with customers.
• Team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Break-Fix: work outside of normal hours as needed.
• Remote Hands: install and test data center equipment per MOPs and specs.
• Cabling: install and troubleshoot Ethernet and fiber cables and connectors.
• Optical Testing and Troubleshooting: use OTDR, power meter, VFL for testing 10/100G circuits.
• Site Audits: validate equipment placement and document results.
• Racking and Stacking: install hardware in racks following SOPs.
• Decommissioning: remove outdated hardware safely.
• Hardware Replacement: replace faulty network/IT hardware.
• Power Management: manage power feeds and ATS.
• Documentation: read cut-sheets and ensure proper connections.
• AC/DC Power Equipment: troubleshoot power equipment.
• Oversight of 3rd party on-site activities.
