Job summary

Google’s Hardware Operations team seeks a seasoned Hardware Operations Manager to lead a data center technicians group responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining server hardware and components. The Site Lead will own deployment outcomes across networks, storage, compute, and AI infrastructure while guiding project teams through high-risk operational transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing site wide or inter-site technical teams.
• 5 years of experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• 5 years of experience developing and managing managers.
• Experience with process optimization, risk modeling, and performance management (KPIs/SLO attainment).
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of the site-level server operations team, ensuring all priorities are consistent with global company objectives.
• Implement and drive a robust safety culture at the site, advocating for Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives to foster a secure and collaborative environment.
• Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of managers and technicians. Lead succession planning and build a robust talent pipeline.
• Be accountable for localized metrics, including KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs, while identifying opportunities for process optimization.
