Job summary

Confidential Company in San Jose seeks a hands-on Server/Network Hardware Technician to support data center infrastructure. The role requires working with network admins to troubleshoot and upgrade firmware, rack equipment, and ensure connectivity.

You will follow wired diagrams, perform cabling, and verify operational readiness while coordinating component procurement and returns as needed. This is an on-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and resolving server hardware issues.
• Ability to rack, stack, cable, and upgrade hardware per diagrams.
• Familiarity with firmware upgrades and IP configuration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with network admins to resolve server issues and perform hardware replacements.
• Rack, stack, and cable servers or switches to enable remote access for configuration.
• Provide hands-on support for ad hoc server or switch requests.
• Coordinate procurement and installation of replacement components; manage returns.
• Perform server cabling per wiring diagrams and validate connectivity.
• Diagnose issues to identify root causes with help from remote admins.
• Conduct firmware upgrades and configure IP addresses per procedures.
• Conduct physical inspections to verify equipment inventory.
