Job summary

Proven Recruiting is seeking a Data Center Engineer for Santa Clara, CA or Northern VA. You will join the Data Center Engineering and Operations team to deploy and support infrastructure hardware.

You'll provision servers, switches, PDUs, and consoles; rack and cable; perform initial configurations per SOP; and troubleshoot hardware. You will maintain inventory and assist with decommissioning and RMAs, with occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of data center experience.
• BA/BS in IT, CS, or related field (or equivalent).
• Strong hands-on networking & fiber cabling knowledge.
• Experience with Linux command line basics.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for data center infrastructure provisioning and server/network equipment deployments.
• Rack, cable, and provision servers, switches, PDUs, and consoles, and perform initial system configuration per SOP.
• Work hands-on with physical network infrastructure, including fiber cabling and optics.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues, document findings, and provide detailed root cause analysis reports.
• Maintain accurate hardware inventory and support decommissioning, RMA processing, and data center best practices.
