Job summary

Google Bridgeport, AL is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager within the Hardware Operations team. You will manage a team of Data Center Technicians, oversee the quality installation of server hardware and components, and lead troubleshooting of complex installations.

You will configure and maintain hardware and server software, including networking components, and may lead small projects with contingency planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 2 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or contract management and delivery.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Data Center Technicians, oversee the installation of server hardware and components and manage complex installations/troubleshooting.
• Configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software, including Linux-based clusters; oversee networking components.
• Lead small project teams on larger installations and develop contingency plans.
• Drive Environmental Health and Safety initiatives in collaboration with other teams.
• Support 24/7 operations and remote ML travel teams as needed.
