Job summary

Google's Data Center Operations team seeks an experienced Technical Operations Manager to oversee electrical, cooling, and IT infrastructure for co-location facilities. You’ll partner with engineering teams to ensure operability, maintainability, and reliability across global data centers.

You will work on cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and escalation handling, while adhering to safety standards and industry best practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 9 years of experience in electrical, mechanical/HVAC, or controls/automation in an industrial or commercial environment.
• 5 years of experience in program or project management in mission-critical facilities or related environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive testing, validation, improvement, and certification of new critical equipment operations for data centers.
• Lead compliance activities for data centers and analyze results across global sites.
• Monitor data center systems, control site activities to minimize risk, ensure effective responses to excursions.
• Ensure sites follow facility maintenance and standard programs globally while improving those policies.
• Develop strategies to minimize operational costs, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact.
