Job summary

Google is seeking a senior Data Center Operations leader in the United States to direct global facilities, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. You will lead teams, coordinate with vendors, and safeguard operations to minimize outages while driving cost efficiency.

Ideal candidates have extensive DC experience, strong leadership, and a track record of improving reliability, safety, and environmental performance across complex data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in data center operations or equivalent operational experience in non-DC industries.
• 5 years of experience managing technical teams and vendors in charge of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure and components.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to ensure compliance activities and analyze compliance results for data centers globally, ensuring regional and global teams are complying with project/schedule guidelines and Google design standards.
• Facilitate efforts to monitor data center systems operations, control site activities to minimize risk, and to ensure effective response to any excursions.
• Drive efforts to ensure sites are following facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while improving said policies and programs.
• Manage the development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact at a site, along with driving site-level development of programs and initiatives.
• Incorporate subject matter expertise to make recommendations for data center design improvements to optimize equipment and operations for next generation data centers.
