Job summary

Edged Data Centers Chicago is seeking a proactive Site Operations Manager to lead a team of facility technicians and ensure uptime across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and life-safety systems. You will drive safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, manage maintenance planning in CMMS, review SOPs, and coordinate with vendors while reporting to the Site Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent military training or experience.
• 5–7 years of data center/critical facilities experience.
• 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire life safety.
• Experience with CMMS, BMS, and other monitoring tools.
• Proven ability to lead teams under pressure in high-availability environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of facility technicians, ensuring high performance and growth.
• Oversee shift coverage, work assignments, and resource allocation for readiness.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and career development for reports.
• Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and teamwork across operations.
• Report staffing performance and needs to Site Operations Manager.
• Ensure operations comply with policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve JHAs, MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and training for compliance with AHJ.
• Oversee operation, maintenance, and performance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and life safety systems.
• Prioritize maintenance activities in CMMS and ensure accurate documentation.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and post-incident reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance resilience and uptime.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and contractors on technical and operational matters.
• Partner with Site Ops Manager and internal teams to align facility operations with business needs.
