Job summary

Google Inc. in Midlothian, TX is seeking a Data Center Area Lead, Server Operations. You will manage a team of Data Center Technicians responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of server hardware and components.

As Area Lead you will own regional operational outcomes, lead site leaders and operations managers, manage OPEX, drive safety culture, and align projects with KPI targets. This role requires flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams in charge of installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining hardware servers and its components.
• 3 years of experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• 3 years of experience developing and managing managers.
• Experience with Linux and network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Data Center Technicians; oversee installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of server hardware.
• Oversee hardware and server software setup, troubleshooting and complex installations.
• Act as General Manager for a designated area, owning operational success and OPEX management.
• Lead site leaders and operations managers, balancing priorities and safety culture.
• Define regional identity, drive safety and foster collaboration; monitor KPIs and performance.
