Job summary

Etched is building a new category of AI hardware. We seek an Facilities Engineering Operations Lead to own day-to-day AI data center operations, including uptime, incident response, and escalation for power, cooling, and white space.

You will create the operating system from scratch, including SOPs, maintenance programs, on-call, and alarming, then codify it into a repeatable playbook for future sites. You will build and run the end-to-end site operations, define SLOs, and manage electrical,

Qualifications

• 4-8+ years in critical facilities and data center operations (lead/senior role acceptable).
• Hands-on experience with liquid cooling in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day data center operations end to end: uptime, incident response, escalation for power, cooling, and white space.
• Build the operating system from scratch: SOPs, MOPs, EOPs; change management; maintenance schedules; on-call; alarming.
• Define SLOs and response plans for outage events at fleet, rack, server levels.
• Run liquid cooling plant for high-density racks including CDUs and liquid loops.
• Own electrical operations: switchgear, PDUs, load balancing; enforce LOTO and arc flash safety.
• Manage vendors and contractors; review quotes; oversee onsite work.
• Stand up monitoring and alarming with engineering across BMS/DCIM and telemetry.
• Coordinate rack deployment logistics: receiving, staging, install, commissioning, handoff, decommissioning.
• Track spares and inventory; report metrics to leadership (uptime, PUE, incidents).
• Help build the team and design replicable site-readiness checklists.
