Job summary

Point72 is hiring for a hands‑on Data Center Operations role within its Technology team in New York. You will support the physical infrastructure that underpins our technology platforms, racks and cables, and ensure systems are installed and documented to exacting standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in data center environments, with experience in rack and cabling, PDUs, and asset management. This position emphasizes reliability, security, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 3+ years in data center operations or related IT roles.
• Experience racking, cabling, and replacing enterprise hardware in data center/colocation facilities.
• Knowledge of copper and fiber cabling, patch panels, labeling, port maps.
• Familiarity with data center power distribution, PDUs, redundant feeds, capacity monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Support hands‑on delivery of physical data center infrastructure for technology platforms and systems.
• Rack, stack, and cable enterprise server, storage, and network hardware in data center and colocation facilities.
• Install rail kits, cable managers, patch panels, and fiber enclosures while verifying layouts against diagrams.
• Run, terminate, patch, and label copper and fiber cabling with accurate port maps and patch schedules.
• Coordinate hardware deliveries, vendor field visits, and decommissioning work in restricted data center spaces.
• Maintain rack elevations, asset records, and configuration data for audits and reconciliation.
