Job summary

Referment is seeking a Data Center Engineer to support its critical infrastructure behind its global operations. This hands-on role covers data centres, colocation facilities and internal equipment rooms, from installing hardware and cabling to troubleshooting and capacity planning.

Based at data-centre sites in New Jersey with occasional trips to the New York metro area, the role requires reliability for evenings and weekends and the ability to coordinate across teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• 2–7 years of infrastructure, systems or data-centre experience.
• Hands-on systems administration, particularly server hardware and troubleshooting.
• Strong organisation, judgement and attention to detail.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexibility for evenings and weekends, plus reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations across data-centre sites and keep work prioritised effectively.
• Build, install and troubleshoot servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and copper and fibre cabling.
• Support data-centre buildouts, migrations and infrastructure projects.
• Manage site capacity and contribute to forecasts for future infrastructure requirements.
• Improve operating processes, policies and automation.
• Work with internal teams and external vendors to deliver projects.
