Job summary

Gulfstar Ind in Austin, TX is seeking an Assembly Technician to support the construction and installation of MPE modules and equipment on data center projects.

You will read drawings, prepare materials, assemble prefabricated components, and work closely with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical teams in a fast-paced environment. Safety and quality are top priorities on active sites and fabrication facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial labor preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Willingness to learn MPE assembly techniques and data center construction practices.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the assembly of prefabricated MPE modules and equipment.
• Load, unload, stage, and transport materials using hand tools and handling equipment.
• Read basic assembly drawings, work instructions, and material lists.
• Assemble brackets, supports, pipe racks, cable trays, and frames.
• Assist electricians, plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical installers as directed.
• Install hardware, anchors, fasteners, insulation, and other components.
• Measure, cut, drill, grind, and fasten materials.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Identify damaged materials and report quality issues to supervision.
• Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer site requirements.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Perform other duties as assigned
