Job summary

Consulting Solutions is seeking a project manager with a PM skillset to oversee a data center migration program. You will coordinate 800+ applications through a migration factory, ensuring standardization and on-time cutovers.

Responsibilities include raising blockers, joining status meetings, and reporting on wave health as applications migrate to new data centers. JIRA and Power BI are key tools. Hours align with EST; weekend cutovers occur two weeks per month for the next two years.

Qualifications

Hours: 8-5 EST; Possible weekend work- Cutover events happen on weekends and that will likely be two weeks a month starting in February and going to for the next two years

ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing applications as they progress through the migration factory to move to the new data centers.
• We are looking for a PM skillset – We are entering a data center migration. We’re taking all the applications at the bank and taking them out of the data centers that they are currently in, lining them up to technology standards that CTO has set and then helping them migrate over to the new data centers that are currently being built out.
• Providing the business with repeatable steps, managing and reporting on them through those steps.
• There are also custom tasks that must happen depending on the technology that they’re dealing with. Essentially taking what is standard across the board for all 800 or so applications and figuring out how do we guide them through the “factory” and standardize them to the same steps to make things easier and allow other teams to perform their transformation activities.
• PM Skill set, Familiarity with technology and the process of building out an application is a bonus, someone who understands that there are teams that are going to want to do things their own way, but they're that’s no longer an option. The company is holding our teams to standards. They are not the people who need to know every standard, though they will get familiar with them throughout the 2-year program.
• Responsibility is more on raising blockers, so blockers when things have slowed down the applications migration, and they are the ones who know the process and know the ins and outs of the application. The contractors will be “wave managers” who will parter with those on the reporting side. There will be some reporting needs, joining meetings and speaking to the health of the wave (meaning are they going to meet the migration cutover date?)
