Job summary

Data Airflow, LLC is seeking a Facility Service Technician - Mechanical to sustain mechanical reliability in a large-scale data center environment. You will operate, inspect, and troubleshoot chillers, pumps, fans, and cooling infrastructure while coordinating with client teams and vendors.

Strong BAS/BMS and CMMS experience are valued. The role requires 3+ years in mechanical maintenance within critical facilities, EPA 608 certification, and the ability to read drawings and sequence diagrams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on mechanical maintenance in data centers or critical facilities.
• Proficient with centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans and related equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment schematics, and sequence-of-operations documentation.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and hydronic systems.
• Troubleshooting complex mechanical failures under pressure.
• Familiarity with BAS/BMS platforms for monitoring and alarm response.
• Experience with CMMS to log work orders and PMs.
• Preferred: Tridium Niagara BAS/BMS controls platform.
• Preferred: Trade school/technical certification or associate degree in HVAC or related field.
• Preferred: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, including centrifugal chillers, pumps, fans, motors, and heat rejection equipment.
• Operate, monitor, and document performance of cooling infrastructure, including CRAHs, CRACs, AHUs, and related systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VRF systems, RTUs, and DX compressors.
• Manage refrigerant safely in accordance with EPA Section 608 regulations and site‑specific safety protocols.
• Monitor and document BAS/BMS platforms; Niagara controls experience preferred.
• Support VFD troubleshooting, programming verification, and PM activities.
• Conduct regular building rounds, recording readings from mechanical and environmental monitoring points.
• Execute PM work orders, MOP tasks, and corrective maintenance within client SLA.
• Coordinate with client engineering staff, vendors, and service contractors for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
• Assist in RCA and incident documentation after abnormal events or failures.
• Maintain CMMS records.
• Uphold safety standards including LOTO and permit-to-work requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
