Job summary

Arista Networks, Inc. is seeking a mechanical design engineer to develop the next generation of switches and chassis. You will own design from concept through documentation, collaborating with a cross-functional team to meet aggressive schedules and customer requirements.

The role requires Creo proficiency, experience with sheetmetal/plastic parts, and comfort with thermal simulations, BOM management, and DFM discussions with contract manufacturers. Travel to Asia and North America is expected.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Experience designing sheetmetal parts using soft and hard tooling guidelines.
• Experience designing plastic parts for cosmetic and non-cosmetic uses.
• Familiarity with Creo and Creo Simulate is a plus.
• Experience with thermal simulation and/or air flow testing is a plus.
• Experience with liquid cooling systems is a plus.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate mechanical modules and chassis for the next generation switches.
• Create 3D models and drawings using Creo; provide BOMs and CAD data for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Manage design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Structure BOMs, releases, and changes using product lifecycle management tools (Agile).
• Provide 3D models for thermal simulations.
• Design heat sinks and prepare drawings/3D files for prototyping and manufacturing.
• Support thermal testing and airflow studies; address issues in lab.
• Coordinate with ECAD and CM teams on DFM and manufacturing checks.
• Travel to Asia and North America as needed.
