Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic Journeyman to service data center facilities in Irving, TX. You will diagnose, repair and optimize commercial heating and cooling systems, including chillers, rooftop units and pumps, and collaborate with field teams.

This is a bargaining unit position with union-based benefits. A minimum of eight years of experience, appropriate licenses, and the ability to travel 10–20% are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience.
• Experience repairing ammonia/hydrocarbon systems, chillers, turbines, pumps or fans.
• Universal EPA refrigerants license and applicable state/local licensing.

## Data Center Mech Svc Tech Jrny (un)Apply: Irving-Texas-United States of America: Full time: Posted Today: WD30276300**How will you do it**We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics who have practical work experience in their trade, (HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting and /or mechanical equipment service industry).Mechanics must have practical work experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills. Scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and absorption machines, open-drive screw chillers and ammonia systems. Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.We provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA) with recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.**What we look for****Required*** Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.* Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for system trouble shooting, repair and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business.* Minimum of Eight (8) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry and Industrial Petrochemical, or Data Center vertical environments. This includes Rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing.* Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and/or ammonia / hydrocarbon system components.* Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.* Able to install complete systems, (Chillers, Rooftop Units, plumbing and all supporting mechanical systems).* Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, laser etc. of pumps, fans, Compressors.* Able to use vibration equipment to trouble shoot drivelines.* Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers activities, trouble shooting, installation and repair.* You will be required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.* Opportunity to invest in career development.
