Job summary

Prime Partners in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Low Voltage Technician for a data center build-out. The role focuses on copper/fiber cabling, security rough-in, and A/V rough-in, with independent, production-driven work on day shifts.

Responsibilities include pulling, labeling, and terminating Cat6, fiber work where capable, and wiring installations on a major data center project. Overtime and weekend shifts may occur to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of hands-on low-voltage data cabling experience.
• Strong experience with cable pulling and structured cabling work.
• Fiber experience (terminating, testing, splicing) preferred; ability to work with limited direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform structured cabling installations for new construction data center projects.
• Pull, dress, label, and terminate Cat 6 copper cabling per TIA/EIA standards.
• Install J-hook pathways, cable tray, and conduit as required.
• Support fiber optic work including terminating, testing, and splicing (as skill level allows).
• Perform cable testing using Fluke testers and related tools.
• Assist with security and A/V rough-in work as part of the build-out.
• Read and interpret basic prints, layouts, and scope documents.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, project leads, and team members.
• Follow all jobsite safety policies and procedures.
