Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Culpeper, VA is seeking a Data Center Logistics Manager to oversee multiple data center spare parts operations and drive continuous improvement in inventory controls.

You will mentor Logistics Specialists, generate performance metrics, and partner with the purchasing team to optimize stock levels across centers. The role requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility, strong analytical skills, and a track record in Lean processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience.
• 3+ years building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
• 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience, or Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop Logistics Specialists utilizing available training programs, informal (e.g. on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job performance based feedback.
• Generate and communicate highly accurate, accessible inventory metrics reporting to Stakeholders
• Develop and implement consistent metrics to gauge employee performance.
• Train hourly associates in required department processes.
• Creatively resolve problems and make department impacting decisions in a highly ambiguous environment
• Run stock level reports and analyze results; optimize on-hand stock levels in effort to decrease cost-to-serve and increase efficiency of stock holdings.
• Set and monitor inventory levels of stock rooms to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities.
• Work closely with the logistics purchasing team to ensure cluster level stock is kept at appropriate levels.
• Design, assess, and implement new strategies and initiatives to continuously exceed Customer expectations.
• Continuous improvement through implementation of LEAN processes
