Job summary

Archetype Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Data Center Camera Installer to install and configure IP surveillance cameras in data center environments, align with customer specs, and maintain safety policies.

You will route cabling, test connectivity, coordinate with project teams, and ensure documentation accuracy while following OSHA and site requirements. This role requires basic PoE knowledge, ability to read diagrams, and willingness to travel to sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience installing low-voltage systems, structured cabling, security systems, or surveillance cameras preferred.
• Basic understanding of IP networking, Ethernet cabling, and PoE.
• Ability to read installation drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to pass customer-required background checks and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Install and mount IP security cameras, brackets, housings, and related surveillance equipment.
• Pull, route, terminate, label, and test CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling.
• Install cable pathways including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and surface raceways.
• Connect cameras to network switches, patch panels, and PoE power sources.
• Assist with camera positioning, focusing, and field-of-view adjustments.
• Test camera functionality, verify network connectivity, and troubleshoot installation issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, security drawings, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and installation specifications.
• Label all equipment and cabling according to customer standards.
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades to complete installations on schedule.
• Maintain clean work areas and follow data center cleanliness and security protocols.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and customer site requirements.
