Data Center Infrastructure Operations Network Engineer

Position Overview
You will be a technical team member responsible for maintaining platform components such as VMware, Micro-Services, Networking, and Security Services, ensuring operational continuity for end users. Building trust with customers and technical staff is essential. You will automate system performance collection, analyze metrics, and support hybrid cloud environments, working within a diverse, fast-paced team using Agile methodologies via Jira and Confluence.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., computer science, information technology). Additional degrees with technical leadership experience are considered.
  • Preferably 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Security+ Certification (must obtain within 6 months if not already certified).
  • Proficiency with Linux system management, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Experience with physical network devices (switches, routers, IPS, IDS).
  • Knowledge of VMware NSX SDN and Kubernetes/microservices applications.
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive in troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
  • Strong documentation skills using Jira, and ability to present performance data.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Ansible or similar.
  • Scripting skills for automation, data collection, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of security standards such as NIST and RMF.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code platforms like Terraform.
  • Excellent communication skills, including creating reports and interacting with vendors and stakeholders.

Security Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance, with potential for TS/SCI clearance, are required.
