Title: Senior Java API Developer

Location: REMOTE

Duration: 6+ Months

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer at FIS, you will work with bleeding-edge technology to build innovative fintech products that transform payments, banking, and investing. Your responsibilities include developing core software applications, understanding client requirements, interacting with engineering teams, and training clients on applications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Partner with development managers, product owners, SMEs, and stakeholders to understand software features and provide engineering feedback.
  2. Write high-quality code and create design artifacts for large-scale, critical production systems.
  3. Build secure, robust, scalable, and performant banking components.
  4. Estimate development efforts and participate in planning.
  5. Utilize Test-Driven Development for comprehensive test coverage.
  6. Suggest technical solutions and designs.
  7. Analyze requirements and translate into product/feature designs.
  8. Write technical specifications and documentation.
  9. Maintain and optimize existing code.
  10. Research issues and defects.
  11. Mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Java software development.
  • Experience with Java-based REST, SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise software.
  • Knowledge of J2EE, JavaScript, Angular, HTML.
  • Version control with Git.
  • Experience with SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with RPGLE, SQL, Embedded SQL.
  • Knowledge of FIS products and financial industry.
  • Experience with V7.4, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Familiarity with OS/400 and Windows 11.
