Job summary

Target is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer in Alabama to help ensure reliability of our server farms. You will design, install, and maintain raised floor layouts, power distribution, and network management to support our running environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC and UPS systems, plus the ability to lead incident response and establish best practices. You will collaborate across teams to keep data centers secure and scalable.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or comparable experience.
• Extensive experience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and UPS systems.
• Deep knowledge of design, fabrication, testing and troubleshooting in space.
• Stays current with evolving technologies through training and self-study.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Target's core data center plant and raised floor equipment.
• Lead as Architect in planning power and cooling infrastructure.
• Serve as escalation point for incident management of power and cooling.
• Develop operational procedures for staff and vendor maintenance.
• Schedule, track, and oversee vendor upkeep.
• Establish data center best practices and guidelines.
• Identify training needs and provide instruction.
• Fill in for open shifts when technicians are unavailable.
• Identify data center reliability risks.
• Assist with equipment, operations and application issue resolution.
• Contribute to capacity planning.
• Support development activities ensuring architectural and functional requirements.
