Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Ohio is seeking Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) to be the front line of hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation.

The role includes 12-hour rotating shifts, 3- to 5-day work weeks, and 24/7 coverage. You will operate and maintain critical data center equipment, troubleshoot incidents, perform routine maintenance, and support other technicians.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in heights.
• US citizen with active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including nights and weekends.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical equipment in data centers.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in the data center.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform maintenance tasks: filters, HVAC PMs, rack power installs.
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Take daily operational readings and log data.
• Utilize CMMS to manage workflows and inventory.
• Supervise contractors performing servicing.
• Respond to off-hour emergency calls.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Drive innovation to reduce operational costs.
• Move small wires and objects.
