Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician in Plano, TX to perform preventative maintenance and repairs within a data center environment. The role supports critical engineering systems and ensures safe, reliable operations.

You will monitor equipment, respond to alarms, and work with vendors to maintain compliance and service quality. The position requires a technical apprenticeship or equivalent experience and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline with 1–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to present information clearly to internal teams and clients.
• Willingness to work shifts that may include weekends/holidays.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on data center equipment.
• Monitor environmental conditions to ensure safe working environment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and execute emergency repairs.
• Coordinate with third‑party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and laws.
• Complete planned PM and reactive maintenance following established procedures.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities during walkthroughs.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain quality records.
