Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center operation.

You will monitor mechanical and electrical systems, respond to BMS alarms, and coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance with procedures and safety standards. This role requires an apprenticeship or technical training, 1–2 years’ experience, and the ability to work shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline with apprenticeship or equivalent and 1–2 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
• Meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Able to present information to internal/ client/ management.
• Strong communication to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good organizational skills and basic math proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of all mechanical and engineering systems and equipment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with procedures and laws.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for running/alarms and respond to HVAC-related issues.
• Conduct building walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and maintain maintenance records.
• Follow established processes and safety requirements to complete assigned work.
