Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Regional Safety Engineer to own the Health and Safety function for data centers. You will partner with data center engineers, security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, and HR to drive a strong safety culture and incident prevention.

Qualifications

3+ years of program or project management experience.
Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk prevention, or equivalent experience OR 8 years of compliance program management, etc.
Implement health and safety standards, policies and practices including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, etc.

Responsibilities

Implement health and safety standards, policies and practices including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, and safety regulations.
Conduct health and safety audits of data centers and active construction sites for compliance and life safety.
Ensure compliance and implementation of global health and safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.
Develop health and safety plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity, and other events.
Maintain safety record keeping and data integrity.
Perform data trend analysis to support leadership with safety initiatives.
Consult with AWS compliance team for interpretations and guidance.
Identify risks and work with Operations to remediate using the hierarchy of controls.
Interact daily with customers to deliver health and safety guidance.
