Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer focused on hardware to ensure reliability of data center hardware, firmware evaluations, and vendor interactions. You will handle failure analysis, RMA processes, and work closely with operations technicians in a fast-moving environment.

Ideal candidates have hands-on hardware, firmware diagnostics experience, and scripting skills to automate monitoring and analysis, contributing to uptime and performance across Memphis/Southaven facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 2+ years in hardware reliability engineering, preferably in HPC or data centers.
• Expertise in firmware analysis and hardware specifications review.
• Experience with RMA processes, vendor negotiations, and standard-exceed expectations.
• Ability to diagnose hardware failures, including grey/intermittent issues, with data.
• Familiarity with data center hardware components and emerging tech.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and analysis; knowledge of C/C++, Java, Rust is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze firmware and hardware specs for upcoming releases for compatibility and reliability.
• Investigate and diagnose hardware failures, including grey failures, with testing and data.
• Manage vendor relationships and RMA claims; push for resolutions.
• Collaborate with Data Center Ops Technicians to troubleshoot and optimize hardware.
• Develop monitoring tools, scripts, and processes to detect anomalies and reduce downtime.
• Document failure modes, RCAs, AFR/reliability models, RMA outcomes, and evaluations.
