Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware in our cutting-edge data centers. You will work with servers, networks, and Linux-based software, ensuring reliability and scalability across systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50lb of equipment and physically exert yourself over extended periods.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate data center infrastructure across teams.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment or infrastructure using available data center procedures.
• Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment for part replacement within teams.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and servers.
