Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a hands-on Manager of Data Center Hardware & Infrastructure in Hawthorne, CA to lead a multi-site team responsible for mission-critical compute, storage, and networking hardware. The role emphasizes technical depth, rapid incident response, and scalable data center operations.

You will own capacity planning, procurement, and hardware lifecycle while enforcing security standards for TS/SCI environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams on upgrades and expansions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of team leadership in data center or infrastructure roles.
• 8+ years hands-on experience in enterprise/hyperscale data center operations and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing data center team across sites, including remote locations.
• Own end-to-end hardware lifecycle: capacity, rack/stack, power, cooling, and networking.
• Set hardware standards and procedures aligned with security and DISA STIG/NIST requirements.
• Drive high-availability operations: monitoring, incident response, and rapid recovery.
• Collaborate with network, security, facilities, and compute teams on new builds.
• Manage vendor relationships, roadmaps, spares, and budget for data center infra.
• Implement DCIM, telemetry, and automation for capacity and asset tracking.
• Ensure compliance with TEMPEST/SCIF requirements for classified environments.
