Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a technically hands-on Manager of Data Center Hardware & Infrastructure to build and scale a team responsible for the design, deployment, operations, and lifecycle management of data center hardware supporting classified (TS/SCI) and enterprise environments across SpaceX sites, including Hawthorne.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline; 5+ years leading technical teams in data center/infrastructure or 7+ years leading technical teams in data center/infrastructure.
• 8+ years hands-on experience in enterprise or hyperscale data center operations, hardware infrastructure, or critical facilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of data center technicians, systems engineers, and infrastructure specialists.
• Own end-to-end data center hardware lifecycle: capacity planning, rack/stack, cabling, power, cooling, storage, and networking.
• Enforce hardware standards and operational procedures per security requirements for TS/SCI environments.
• Drive high-availability operations: monitoring, incident response, change management, and rapid recovery.
• Collaborate with network, security, facilities, and compute teams on design for new builds and expansions.
• Manage vendor relationships, roadmaps, spares strategy, and budgets for data center infrastructure.
