Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Data Center Smart Hands Technician to provide on-site hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for our client in Ashburn, VA. You will work with remote engineering teams and vendors to keep critical infrastructure running reliably.

The role requires hands-on data center experience, ability to rack and cabling, and on-site availability M-F 8-5 with bi-weekly on-call rotation. US citizenship and ability to obtain agency clearance are required.

Qualifications

High School level reading, writing and analytical skills.
Hands-on experience installing, racking, stacking and replacing servers, network and storage equipment.
Knowledge of structured cabling, patch panel management and documentation best practices.
Experience troubleshooting hardware issues under guidance of remote admins.
Strong communication and organizational skills with customer/vendor coordination.
On-site availability M-F 8-5 with biweekly on-call rotation; US citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance.

Rack and stack equipment, patch cabling, decommissioning and disposal activities.
Troubleshoot hardware issues with remote admins, facilities and vendors.
