Job summary

Paragon Safety Group seeks a Night Shift On-Site Safety Manager for a Fort Wayne, IN construction site. The role is temporary/contract, full-time hours with potential overtime, focusing on coaching workers and ensuring OSHA-compliant safety practices on behalf of the client.

You will identify unsafe conditions, conduct field inspections, and lead safety initiatives across the site, reporting incidents and conducting investigations as needed.

Qualifications

• BCSP certification and at least 5 years focused on construction site safety.
• Must have strong communication and safety audit skills.
• Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular site safety audits and prepare formal audit reports using Safety Reports software.
• Coach on-site workers on safe work practices in line with regulations.
• Monitor safety-critical tasks with the contractor and ensure proper practices.
• Represent the client’s interests on site health and safety at all times.
• Report safety incidents and conduct investigations when needed.
• Conduct Safety Orientation for personnel as required.

Job description:

Who we are: Paragon Safety Group provides safety services to construction clients throughout the Eastern US. Headquartered in Raleigh, we provide workplace safety training, consulting, and on-site safety professionals to help our clients keep their jobsites safe.

What we need: Paragon Safety Group has a safety position at construction jobsite in the Fort Wayne, IN area and we are seeking a safety professional who might fill this positions in the role of a Night Shift On-Site Safety Manager for approximately 4 months.

Our positions are temporary W-2 positions with full-time hours (often shifts are 8 to 10 hours per day, and some jobs will offer the potential for significant overtime). In this job, you'd work on the construction site, coaching workers to ensure the safe operations on behalf of the Paragon client, either a site owner, general contractor, or specialty subcontractor.

The person will identify and correct unsafe working conditions, conduct field inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.

Job Duties of the On-Site Safety Specialist

• Perform regular site safety audits and prepare formal audit reports using our preferred software, called Safety Reports
• Coach employees on-site to use safe work practices, in compliance with federal guidelines and company regulations.
• Monitor the performance of safety critical tasks. Work with the Contractor to ensure proper safety best practices are being implemented.
• Represent the client's best interest related to site health and safety at all times.
• Report safety incidents and conduct investigations when deemed necessary.
• Conduct Safety Orientation for personnel as needed.

Qualifications

The successful candidate has:

• BCSP Cert & Minimum 5 years' experience in jobs with 100% of time managing construction site safety
• Mission Critical Experience (Required)
• Up to date First Aid / CPR / AED Certification
• Great communication skills (required)
