Job summary

Hanley Energy in Ashburn, Virginia, is seeking a Data Center Field Technician to join our team and represent the company at customer data centers. You will install and maintain Energy Management Systems, as well as switchgear, UPS, electrical, and power generation equipment.

The role requires traveling to client sites, performing hands-on troubleshooting, and supporting the full physical infrastructure of mission-critical data centers to reduce energy costs and ensure uptime.

Qualifications

• Technical training or trade school with relevant experience.
• Experience working in a Data Center or Critical Environment.
• Minimum 2+ years of electrical and/or mechanical work experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid leadership and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail with high energy and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failure.
• Perform limited maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
• Follow safety procedures at all times.
• Take operational readings of equipment.
• Utilise CMMS to manage building workflows.
• Meet with customers to identify data center building needs and gather requirements.
• Administrative duties including data entry in Excel and generating work orders.
• Maintain power and cooling of the facility and ensure clean rooms for critical environments.
