Job summary

Network Connex Company seeks a Field Technician (L2) to perform installation and cabling in live data center environments, adhering to safety and QA standards. The role is independent, with travel to regional sites and potential overtime.

You will mentor L1 technicians, support QA/QC, and maintain accurate documentation while coordinating with engineers and vendors to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in data center, structured cabling, or field service environments.
• Fiber optic testing certification on OTDR and OLTS.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Execute installation services per contractual agreements with safety and QA/QC standards.
• Perform all installation and cabling work, including routing and testing copper and fiber.
• Establish scope and procedures with minimal guidance from leads.
• Maintain rack and stack, patch panels, and structured cabling; ensure organized systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex fiber/copper issues; no escalation required.
• Read cable maps and schematics to support installation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain documentation, asset tracking, and service reports.
• Support QA/QC requirements and work in live data centers.
• Train and mentor L1 technicians; travel to regional data centers as needed.
