Job summary

EOS IT Solutions in the United States is seeking a Data Center Technician- Field Operations to install, service, and maintain low voltage cabling in data centers. You will rack and stack equipment, perform cable management, and ensure proper connectivity while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes following MOP/CMOP guidelines, documenting work, and coordinating with team members to meet project SLAs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure.
• Ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables.
• Familiarity with standards: BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and NEC.
• Industry and manufacturer-specific certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI TECH, Corning TS-LAN500).
• Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and maintain low voltage cabling.
• Rack and stack equipment; assist with cable management.
• Clean fiber and copper connections; perform basic troubleshooting.
• Follow MOP and CMOP guidelines.
• Operate work ticket systems for infrastructure management.
• Read port maps; perform basic troubleshooting.
• Conduct power distribution and cable management tasks.
• Coordinate with team to complete projects and work orders.
• Follow procedures and safety regulations; report to operations management.
• Document work in written and electronic formats.
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory.
• Respond to emergencies; meet SLAs.
• Escalate complex issues to senior team members.
• Conduct Service Swaps of live networking devices.
