Job summary

Gtatelecom is seeking a Data Center Field Installations Technician (L2) to execute and oversee in-rack installation activities of moderate complexity within a data center environment. You will handle rack builds, structured cabling, power distribution, and cooling integration, plus initial system bring-up and validation.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on data center experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to mentor junior technicians while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data center installations or similar hands-on technical role.
• Strong understanding of rack infrastructure, server, storage, and network hardware.
• Proficiency in structured cabling (fiber and copper) and cable management best practices.
• Experience with power distribution within racks (PDUs, dual feeds, redundancy).
• Working knowledge of cooling methodologies including DX airflow management and D2C liquid cooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead rack build and in-rack deployment activities based on design documentation.
• Interpret rack layouts, elevation diagrams, and cabling schematics.
• Install and validate power connections (single/dual feed, PDUs, load considerations).
• Implement and optimize cooling solutions: DX-cooled environments and D2C cooling.
• Perform OS installation and basic configuration per build standards and imaging processes.
• Validate hardware functionality (POST checks, BIOS/firmware baseline).
• Conduct post-installation QA, cable/power labeling, and airflow validation.
• Identify and resolve installation issues and guide L1 technicians.
• Coordinate with project teams, engineering, and operations for smooth delivery.
• Update documentation and report installation progress and deviations.
