Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to monitor and maintain mission-critical data center facilities, including stand-by diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, cooling systems, and fire/life safety equipment across multiple sites.

You will perform rounds, troubleshoot PMs, and coordinate with contractors. The role requires flexibility for shifts up to 12 hours and possible on-call rotations, with travel between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical facilities maintenance
• 1+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience
• 2+ years of data center engineering experience
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety equipment
• Monitor BMS and EPMS
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack events within SLA
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Technical writing to support change management
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring work complies with practices and local regulations
• Shift changes up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations
• Role may support more than one location/site
