Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Fiber Testing Lead to provide technical leadership and hands-on execution for fiber testing projects across the US and Canada. The role demands staying onsite with 100% road-warrior travel, often 4–5 weeks per site, and managing variable hours as projects demand.

The ideal candidate will have OLTS/OTDR experience (EXFO preferred), fiber type knowledge, and strong root-cause analysis skills to drive project success in fast-paced data center environments.

Qualifications

• Proven fiber testing and troubleshooting experience in data center environments (OLTS/OTDR).
• Ability to diagnose failed optics, determine root causes, and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong on-site technical leadership and problem-solving across multi-site projects.
• Willingness to be 100% onsite with extensive travel across the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Execute fiber acceptance testing (OLTS, OTDR) and analyze results.
• Troubleshoot failed optics and diagnose root causes for management elevation as needed.
• Provide on-site technical leadership and coordinate with project teams.
• Support national data center projects including rack builds and structured cabling.
