Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification a plus.
• 1+ year experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, or related work.
• Proficient with 200-micron ribbon fiber and Base-16 data center architectures.
• Basic knowledge of fusion splicers (Fujikura, Sumitomo).
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces and at heights.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn advanced techniques.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform mid-to advanced fiber optic splicing, including basic ribbon and single-fiber splices.
• Perform mid-to advanced fiber testing using VFLs and power meters under guidance.
• Support senior technicians with troubleshooting and equipment setup.
• Maintain accurate documentation for splices, test results, and project records.
• Follow safety procedures and industry standards (TIA-568, IEC, Telcordia).
• Properly handle, clean, and maintain splicing tools and test equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
