Job summary

Smartlink in Pecos, TX seeks a Data Center Fiber Manager to lead all fiber‑optic splicing activities for large‑scale hyperscale projects. You will manage multi‑shift teams, coordinate with installation, logistics and project management, and ensure accuracy, quality and on‑time delivery of high‑density backbone splicing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience in Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in fiber‑optic installation, splicing, testing in high‑density environments.
• 3+ years managing multi‑shift splicing crews.
• Expert troubleshooting of complex splicing and fiber performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead fiber splicing teams across multiple shifts and sites (8–10 technicians).
• Oversee mass‑fusion and single‑fiber splicing for high‑fiber‑count trunks.
• Approve splice plans; ensure splice trays, cassettes, panels and ODFs are per design.
• Lead QA/QC testing and resolve anomalies; manage punch lists and turnover.
