Smartlink in Abilene, TX is seeking a Fiber Technician I to support fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing in data center environments. You will assist with routine fiber work, equipment setup, and documentation while developing technical skills under supervision.
The role focuses on safe, accurate work with test procedures using different equipment and requires a willingness to learn advanced techniques. Travel may be required as part of project needs.

The Fiber Technician I conducts and supports fiber optic installation, mid-to advanced level splicing, and testing activities in data center environments. This role focuses on developing technical skills while assisting with routine fiber work, equipment setup, and documentation. Must demonstrate proficiency in performing test procedures utilizing different types of test equipment. Work must be performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company and industry standards.
